Today is the last day before Luciana turns exactly 1 month old. The posts had stopped for a while because we ran into an unfortunate situation with an infection, and, the poor girl was just too unsightly to take photos of. It all started 2 weeks ago on Tuesday when we went to the doctor. The doctor took a look at the girl and then went and asked for help- not a good sign. Well, the help said we need to check in to the hospital, so we did. The hospital said she had staph scalded skin syndrome. It's a very ugly thing to have, but completely treatable and has no lasting impacts, thankfully. Luciana and Lauren had to stay in the hospital for 7 nights to receive antibiotics via IV because the oral antibiotics don't work so well on such young children.
Now she's a pretty little darling girl again, so we'll be able to post some more pictures soon. The only pictures taken during the ordeal were after she had begun healing, so they don't look nearly as bad as it was.

We hope to never see these white hospital blankets with blue and pink stripes on Lucy ever again.

I'm so glad to hear that Luciana is doing well again. She looks beautiful....totally different (in the picture of course) than she did a month ago. I'm happy yall are doing well and I CAN'T WAIT to come up and see the new family addition.
Lots of love,
Caroline
She is a pretty little thing, isn't she? I'm so glad she's well again. I have to agree with Kai that the pink and blue striped hospital blankets don't do her justice.
Next time I see her, I hope to be able to be more help than I was on this trip....
