Gampaw Joseph is visiting from Cali! He was very brave and watched Luciana for 4 days while Kai & Lauren went to work. They had a good ole time together & everything went smoothly - though we haven't watched the tapes from the nanny cam yet ;)....

We took Luciana to the wonderful NC State Zoo in Asheboro last weekend while the grandparents were in town. We met up with our dear friend Tami and her family & spent a great day checking out all the animals. We love the zoo & can't wait to take her back.

thanksgiving

lucy spent her 1st thanksgiving with lots of family, including the DiBiase clan in from NY! We tried to give her a bite of sweet potato, but she wasn't really interested. she is wearing the same sweater that Lauren wore on her 1st thanksgiving (linda thinks of everything!)

cereal killer

We gave Lucy rice cereal for the 1st (& 2nd) time this past weekend.
It was extremely diluted with breast milk so we've decided not to count it as her first encounter with solids. She seemed to enjoy it though and liked eating off of a spoon - she kept grabbing at the spoon and trying to feed herself.

Lucy is now 4 months old & is an absolute delight (aside from a few crying jaunts).
She has grown very attached to her bunny blanket (in the 1st pic above) that Just Jonas gave her. She also likes her learn n groove music table courtesy of Toolsi & Luke. (Mom & Dad are also a big fan of the learn n groove - it's super fun to play with). And the yellow Bumbo chair has given her easy access to all sorts of things - the stuffed animals that dangle off her playmat and a giant bowl of halloween candy - she had a preference for the plain M&Ms - she pulled out 8 bags!

It's Lucy's 1st Halloween. To celebrate she attended Just Jonas's pumpkin carving party last weekend. She wore the outfit she is sporting above to the party. Correction. She wore the outfit in the car on the way to the party. Let's just say it took a few washes to get it back to wearable status & ready for this photo shoot. Tonight we're stopping by Auntie CJ's Hween party - Lucy may or may not dress up- if she does, we'll be sure to post pics in the next post.

Our friends Julie & Dave (we call them Fulie & Fave) from Charlotte came to visit this past weekend - with their help we took Lucy to the NC State Fair. Lucy spent most of the time sleeping in her stroller, but she did see horses, ducks, goats, donkeys, cows and pigs! She also allowed Daddy to play some fair games and Mommy to go on a fair ride. Not pictured are all the super healthy fair foods that we indulged in ;)

sorry for the lack of posts lately - mommy had to go back to work! and daddy took a trip to san diego and took the camera. luckily grandpa bill came to the rescue and watched Lucy the first few days that I was in the office. He was a superb babysitter and enjoyed his time with the little gal.
Lucy has been a lot of fun this past month - we heard her first laughs and we get more smiles each day. Above is a random assortment of recent pictures - we'll try to be more organized in future posts.

Lucy & Jack

A few folks have inquired as to how Jack has handled the addition of baby Luciana to our family. We are happy to report that he has been great with her & though occasionally jealous of the attention she gets overall he seems to be adjusting quite well. There are times when Lucy is crying that he will loudly sigh and cover his eyes with his paw as if to say he's had enough and needs a break. We're right there with you buddy:)
